Barbara,
I decided to extend my warranty because I am trying to do this out of my home while working a full time job. The cost of the warranty is expensive, but buying a new machine is out of the question for me. I do not have my business built up where I want it to be. I was hoping to have it built up where I could quit my job and work fulltime at this. I also have a 10 year old son in every sport imaginable and time is at a premium.
I am a perfectionist and I tend to take more time on a job than I should. Anyone out there interested in "interning" people? I was wondering if that would help me learn some tricks of the trade and overcome my fear of not putting out a perfect piece. Just a thought!
I chose to buy the extended warranty on my original Amaya for the plain and simple fact that is has run flawlessly from day one! It has never (knock on wood) had a service call for anything (unlike my XT-AKA problem child), never been down (again unlike the XT) and has been 100% dependable. Although, since purchasing the XT, my cap driver for the original collects dust!
The XT, in my opinion, in far superior for running caps!
Reason number two...this is my full-time job. I cannot afford to have a machine go down and nopt be able to get it fixed.

A trip to Home Depot's paint isle will make it look just like ol' smokey!
Seriously, if you want to change the color of your original Amaya to resemble the Amaya XT, the XT covers are not as expensive as you might think. However you must take into consideration that the Amaya aluminum chassis is painted white and the XT is grey. Therefore even if you changed all the covers to match the XT, it still wouldn't look exactly like an XT until you visit Home Cheepo's paint isle. So you stand correct Mr. Seaux & Seaux.
