  • Ehternet communications did not start correctly

I keep getting a message when I go to open Amaya OS - it says, "Ethernet communications did not start corrently, restart computer."

I have restarted several times only to get the same error message. I have everything plugged in properly, etc., and there's no reason for it to tell me this error and not bring up the program. I believe it's something with my computer, but I can't figure it out. I recently had my computer in the shop, so maybe that's where the problem is. Any suggestions??

Well, I had some bad viruses, so the computer dr took care of everything and got the computer up and running again, etc. I'm assuming some setting is wiped out.

Ok, so when they "fixed" your computer. What did they do? I ask because quite frankly, the only way to really know you are free of viruses is to back up your data files, wipe the computer and start fresh.

My worry is that often viruses effect the network stack in windows as one of the first things they do - so sometimes in removing the infected files, its possible the drivers or networking protocol was hosed.

This may be above what you are comfortable doing, but if it were me, I'd first try removing the network adaptor from device manager in windows. Then reboot and let it find it again/reinstall the drivers. This may or may not work to fix the issue.

Which operating system are you using? XP, Win 7, Win 8?
