  • digitizing question

I am doing some lettering on a hat and the size of the letter is 2.5 inches high. I am using the letter f (I digitized it from a picture but the letter is close to what the F looks like in the font "Gesture BRK) with a 17 point border around the letter. In the corners of the letter the inside angle is less than 30 degrees and i do have the short stitches on but it still looks like a mound of thread in those corners. The length of the stitching in the corners is at least 1/4 to 5/16 inches long. any suggestions?

    Thanks

Since you said your border is 17 points I am going to assume (I know I shouldnt do that) you used single line to create the border. Go into the single line properties box and click on the corners option. In tbere turn on smooth and/or mitered and apply. If that doesnt correct your problem try adding i put points on either side of the corner point. Sometimes you have to move the points away or closer to the corner to effect a change. Alsi may have to change parameters in corners option box.

One way to see a pile up better is to look at it not using 3D. When you look at a satin stitch or fill stitch you will see any areas that have to many stitches. If you use a white background and a blue or black stitch the areas that need attention will show up pretty nicely. You will see the stitches that are laying over another. From there you can make adjustments to the stitch and until you lighten up the pile ups.

thank you so much for the response. I have been so busy I haven't had time to say thank you. It all worked out using Jeff's suggestion and when i get some time I will work at it to become more proficient. Again thank you.
