  • Not cutting - Head staying down

We have been working on a thick bathroom rug. At each time for a cut, the machine head would stay down. I had to hit the emergency stop button, cut the thread, and then push go. It would go again until the next cut. Can someone tell me if there is a setting that I need to change that might cover this? Many thanks for all your help in the past!!

Not much info here but for starters if the rug is thick have you raised the presser foot up

Yes, I did have the presser foot up. I think about 6 clicks.

Just a guess here but I'd go higher with the presser foot and oil the hook anything to do with the needle going up and down. If it's thick enough it might have too much resistance going up and down (Z).

Many thanks. I had two of the rugs exactly alike, and had written after completing the first one. I moved the presser foot all the way up on the second one, and it sewed perfectly. Again, thanks.
