• multi threads pops and then breaks

I have come to my wits end.
Machine ran design the first run. 1 or 2 thread breaks. Started to run second running of design.
Now nothing but popping and thread breaks. 34 breaks in less than 20K stitches.
I have tried to increase and decrease thread feed. speed up machine slow down machine, loosen bobbin tighten bobbin. change thickness settings
Muslin materal ( wall hanging ) with heavy weight cut away backing. Metro Thread and Metro Bobbins
Its been running great until I started another running of the design... also changed needles. no help

Nothin is workin.
Machine
2004 AMAYA
OS ver 5.07.056
Z-Run 849.35.48
188BIOS ROM 1.2
RSA 2.82
360BIOS ROM 1.5
CSA 1.64
DSP 00.08
MSP430 00.34
Z Axis Rotations 40350697

Please any suggestions. I have used default settings and went up 14 and down 14 on thread feed. I have always run 2-3 materal thickness anything higher than 3 I get bobbin breaks detection

You may have thread caught under your throat plate. This has happened to me. Check it out. Hope it helps.

I do not have time right now to get into this but bottom line I need tons more information as to what you have checked or done to date,,,,

Specific lubrication, threadfeed drive gear, presserfoot height, takeup lever cam disk lube, Metro thread> rayon or polly?, Roller lubrication, Are these the old black soft rubber rollers or the yellow opnes.....on and on..../ gotta run....Hook timing?

checked under needle plate nothin.

Then I did a complete service of the machine.

Umm a tiny bit better.

Then did hook wash.

no better.

changed from Metro Poly thread to Rayon, nope, then went to Exquisite Poly nope. Changed bobbin type to cardboard sided nope. got upset shut everythng down. walked away for 3 hours. went back and everything is working fine now. Go figure......

Glad it is fixed now. Just an FYI for you. My Amaya XT will not run Metro thread due to constant thread breaks. Their black thread is the worst for thread breaks. I am able to use the Metro plastic side bobbins on my Amaya XT though and they run fine and are a lot cheaper than NEB.

I get the best results from Madeira Polyneon and plastic side prewound bobbins. I now have a combination that works and am sticking to it.

I have noticed that other users say they get good results with various other brands. I think each of our Amaya's has it's own likes and dislikes that may not be the same in all cases.
