  • Help in need of Technician for repair!

I have had a disatrous experience with my AMAYA this morning and in more than a bind! After stitching a simple design this morning, I suddenly hear a pop sound, I turn to investigate thinking this came from somewhere else in the room only to hear another pop, followed by billows of smoke from the A/C input and then the arm and elsewhere on the back! I immediately paniced and began unplugging as it was time to leave for my regular job! I've returned and held my breath as I re-connected and tried to boot up, and immediately the machine popped twice and now nothing! There is no power to the machine at all it appears. I know my worst fears are going to be realized when I finlly find someone to look at it. But, in the meantime, does anyone have any suggestions on some trouble shooting I can attempt? Do you have any suggestions on a technician? I am in Barnwell, SC which is approximately 5 hours to the nearest authorized tech!!! UGH! I am freaking out here with orders pending!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

      Monkeytree,

Uh-ho....if you let all the smoke out of the machine , it just won't work anymore-- ;-{..

Seriously, you have no other choice but to call on a tech. From your description, it could be the power pack located in the back of the machine. This may have caused other damage to wiring, motors and/or the main CPU board...I do not believe there is anything that you could or should try to do at this point.

Unplug the machine from the wall for saftey reasons and get a certified tech to take a look at it. I believe Vince Putnam is your closest option on the North Carolina side...
