  • Amaya XT Trimmer problems

    Hello,
I am having trimmer issues. Yesterday I was stitching a big order of shirts when the trimmer made a funny noice and then would not trimm after that. Took it apart cleaned it put it back together and it still won't trim. Just loops the tread between the letters and won't cut the top thread. Does anyone have any soulutions as to what migh be wrong? I am doing
a very large order that needs to be done by
Wednesday. Pleas help if you can.

    Barbra,

First...take off the needleplate. Go into Maintenance ( in AOS ) and Steppers. In the "Selector" column, left click on "out" while watching to see if the Selector comes out. Do the same for the "Cutter". If they do not move when you left click on "in and/or out, check to see if the pushrod wire are hooked up to them properly and/or if the pushrod wire has broken the 90 degree hook off on the end of one of or both of them.

Also on the "Stepper" screen, at the bottom, you will see a "Detect Trimmer" box. Left click a couple of times on this. The Big Red Amaya does not have this option. The "Standard" trimmer on the XT would show as a "0". The XTS or a modified XT would show as a "2", if it has the newer ACAT trimmer installed in it.

You did not give any information about the year model of your machine, so I am assuming that it is an XT with the standard trimmer.

Give these suggestions a try and let us know what you find.

John was the Senior Tech instructor at Melco and is who I took my initial training from many years ago. I wish I could just plug a jump drive into that dude and download all the information he has stored in that brain of his...

          Help!!

I saw this forum but my issue is still not fixed. I tested everything as written. Pushrod is working but when I left clicked on selector and then clicked in and out noting happened. Is something supposed to move?
