No.
Unless your in an area that they could be stolen.
The odds of you loosing them is much greater then the odds of them being burnned out by a power surge.
and the power surge would be covered by your insurance, loosing it would not be. -
Since I just had to replace one(I don't think it was a power surge) I was trying to figure out if that is what happened to it, leaving it plugged in.
