I was thinking it had been 3 years. I got discussed with my amaya and unplugged it.

Then a year later had a heart attract. That was big $$$ sheesh....


Well I blew the dust off the old girl. put a little oil on the bobin area. Loaded up a 3 needle 500 count st pattern Lol.
I wasn't about to load up a big one. Bim bam boom and I end up with my little wine glass half full of wine. It look like she still works.

Having been through the heart attack thing myself a year ago in October and now belonging to the Honarary Order of the Zipper Club (scar)...glad to hear your are doing OK....Welcome back....!!

The Amaya on the other hand needs more than oil on the hook...otherwise it may in line to either have a heart attack itself or add enough frustration to cause you another one....it needs a "complete" lubrication sequence to be performed on it as the oils and grease may have dried up and the machine won't really run up to expectations..

Oh thank you Ron and glad you are ok. It's a shame that whatever taste good is bad for us.


I was wondering what all I needed to oil. I need to find the oil list it looks like.

I hope this can all be done by me.

I never had used the machine a whole lot. I missed out on the school. They shut down training for a whole month a few years ago when I had planed to go. That's the breaks lol

I have only run maybe 100 cap or so.

Oh Ron or anyone ) Is there a set size of screw drivers and tools I need to pick up?

I have my allen set and my 1 small reg screw drive.

All you really need for now is the allen set and the small screw driver...

Go into Settings and Timers. Do the step through procedure on each item that is on the list. This will dulicate some of the items to lubricate as you progress through the list and you don't need to lubricate things twice....this will allow you to get the machine well lubricated and will save you a lot of headaches...

Thank you Ron, that makes it pretty simple. I was not sure of the best way to do the process of elimination from head to toe on the machine.

Rod or Sharon, I'm like Ron: 20 months non-use of machine.Your referance to machine stasis and drying out of lubricants rang alarm bells, as, despite a routine maintainance drop of oil to bobbin case, and a new needle, a single colour lettering job is defeating me with constant thread breaks, now worsening. I am just about to change to a new roll of thread, but I do think there might be an issue with timing.

This message is to ask if you or anyone else, knows of a good video showing an actual timing maintenance. Mr Twiddlefingers is standing by, very keen to have a go, His will be a long day for travelling, then servicing my Amaya XT.

And Ron; how are you progressing?

Oops,editing probs overlooked. Should be that Mr Twiddlefingers is actually my DH, and I was making reference to PAID tech being on mainland, with a 10 hour day to drive & ferry himself to and from my Amaya XT.
