  • Hook Wash a Good Idea-Do It

Did the hook wash, wow, I knew there was a considerable amount of crud in there, but, eek! Nasty. So they look wonderful and sew nicely. We do use sticky backing and iron on backing quite frequently and occassionaly adhesives. How often should one do this to prevent a large build up and troubles down the road? Once or twice a year? Hate to wait til troubles arise. Any suggestions--- Rod??? Jerome??? Anyone???

This is going to depend on the environment that the machine lives and is operated in. Because of all the varibles involved it would be difficult to give you a definite figure. In your case, I would look at setting up a 3 month schedule for starters, but if you start to experience issues, you now know another solution to problem solve the trouble with.

Pam, if you go into "search", type in hook wash, you should find something there. Rod answered with a very easy technic on Dec. 13, 2011. It's messy without a doubt, but worth the mess.

Great, I found it and printed out the procedure.
          I will try it.
Thank you and Happy New Year!
