  • Thread breaks and not sewing

When sewing on flats today, I had a thread break that failed to be detEcted and resulted in thread being wound around rolled. This was cleaned out and xt failed to sew. Just thread breaks. It didn't matter what needle or what design, just thread breaks after about 20 stitches. The stitches that did sew didn't look right but the bobbin was picking up.

I checked the hook and it appeared the hook point was rotated to the right and not adjusted properly. This was adjusted and the hook timing was adjusted as outlined in the tech manual.
    Needle guard gap adjusted
Hook retaining finger adjusted with provided tool
    Bobbins checked out ok
What am I missing. Only machine I have and need suggestions. Thanks

Did you set the hook timing to the "closest needle"- marked under the black plastic table underneath the machine (where the motherboard is)?

is the top thread seated properly on the the thread feed roller, feeding through the small groove in the black plastic cover and centered on the roller? With the lever down?

Is there any lubricant on the thread feed roller?
