How often if ever should you replace the tention rollers on a regular Amaya?

The red rollers need to be replaced as soon as they start slipping off their posts- I keep at least a hundred on hand. As far as the rubber rollers, unless you have a groove in it, it can last a long time. The only time I had to replace one of these was when the brass bushing fell off on one side.

Keep them cleaned and we'll greased on the inside hub and you shouldn't have to replace them often at all.

We replaced ours about 5 years ago and they are still running fine.

If you notice a problem, clean and try again. If it persists, switch with a known working roller. If it still is an issue, the problem isn't with the roller.

They don't all go bad at once...

Are you saying that we should clean and grease them before the maintenance notice?

Maintenance timers are based on usage - problem is with lack of use, you get dust and dried out grease. Generally, when my busiest needles call for manintenence, I just tear em all off, clean, regrease and reset all the timers.

To me, it's easier to do it at once than doing it piecemeal.
