  • Eithernet cable problems

Please help. I have been running a gateway laptop on my 2005 Amaya. I had no problems with the laptop running the programs the only problem the laptop had was randomly shutting down while the machine was running. I just got a newer HP all-in-one desktop to run the Amaya. BUT, when i loaded the software on the new computer and opened the Amaya OS it gives me an error "Ethernet Communications did not start corretly, Restart Computer". I have read on this forum that there are a few differnet ways to fix the problem. I have tried most of them. Even took the computer back to all factory settings and still nothing works. I tried to hook up a Switch between the computer and the Amaya and it still dosen't connect. I am getting very frustrated with this. If it is a Windows 7 issue someone needs to create a patch. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi... I too had problems when first running my machine through my HP laptop. It turned out to be the ethernet port on the hp. I had to purchase an adapter cable (ethernet to USB) to get it to work. The only adapter I could find (after being told by a best buy employee that they didn't exist) was for a Nintendo Wii. It is made by "Rocket Fish Gaming" and the bar code number is 0060312255. My machine has worked beautifully ever since. Hope I'm understanding you're problem correctly and this helps out.

Sounds like the problem I JUST had on Friday. I had just installed Design shop and Amaya OS BOTH VERSION 7 on a new computer and was getting the same error message. Turns out that my new computer was 64 bit and Version 7 of both programs is only compatible with 32 bit computers. The only 2 solutions are A) Purchase version 9 software or B) Install the version 7 software on a 32 bit computer.

I run Version 9; however, I also ran Ver.7 on Windows 7. You need to install/run it in Vista or XP mode and it's good to go.

          windows 7 comes in 64 & 32 bit versions,
The OS and DS V7 will only work on the 32 bit version. there is no running it in compatibility mode in the 64 bit format.

          Wish there were!!

I am and it works just fine. But I am running V9 not V7 so that's probably the difference?
