• needle break

I have been sewing out a large design and have sewn several shirts. Now when the machine does one jump stitch that is in the design it keeps breaking needles. I sewed out about 10 shirts b/4 it started to do that. I am not sure what I should be looking at or doing to trouble shoot the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help!

It almost sounds like you aren't getting enough thread advanced for the jump stitch and this causes the needle to flex and then hit the needle plate on the next stitch. Can you change the jump stitch to a tie off or somehow advance more thread?

No idea why this would have changed in the middle of sewing out, though.

      BZ,

If you want to send me the design and let me know where the problem area is , I would be happy to take a look at it for you....what format is this in, EXP,OFM,CND,etc...????

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you! YD I did slow it down so I could watch what happened, but it did not seem that the needle was flexing, but I am not sure. Rod I think I will try to send you the design. This happened to me one other time, and as I am new to this I thought that it may be something I had done. I am not sure this time though since I had so many that sewed out correctly. I would like to know how to resolve the problem in case it happens again. Thanks to both of you for responding
