Holes eeeekkkkk

I am sewing a design on a ashworth performance polo 100% polyester.
as I sew it I am getting holes around the lettering.

this is a digitized design so I did not set the density.
I have tried to use a smaller needle, loosen the thread tension, spray tack the backing,
I am kind of out of idea's and am frusterated

these shirts are too expensive to keep messing up

Are you using a ball needle or a sharp point?

was using 75/11 bp then swithched to 70/10 bp

If your getting holes then your cuttint the fibers.

I have had this happen and here is what I have done.

1 decrease the density of your design.
2 I apply a silicone spray to the surface of the design area. NOT wet just a quick spray. (the one I use is sprayway Silicone spray)It does not stain and will lubricate the fabric and needle.
3.Also double check and make sure your using a ballpoint.
4.You can also slow the speed down to about 700stpm as the speed the needle moves can cause heat with polyester.

I don't do that much lettering, but just a thought... is "short stitches" on or off? Unless columns are smaller than about 25 points (~1/10"), I use "short stitches on" to prevent too many needle penetrations when going around corners etc. I don't know if this will help - it sounds like you're experiencing holes around the entire letter.
