    Please help!
What is the most common cause of thread shredding and popping just above the needle?

I have replaced the needle and changed stabilizer and thread. It is a design I have sewn many many times. It is happening on all needles.

    Thanks in advance everyone!

The most common cause is the presserfoot being too high. All the way down and up two clicks for most items is the correct setting.

The use of adhesive sprays used excessively is another.

    Burrs on needles is another.

Burr on the face of the retaining support finger that hold the rotary hook basket from spinning is yet another.

The trimmer pushrod cable(s) on the XT modles being bent or out of adjustment.

    Dry thread vs static electricity.

    Design density.

    Column widths being too narrow.

    Just a few.
