  • Replacement hoop arm screw

I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a place that might sell a replacement "hoop arm screw".

It is a knurled head, stainless steel with a socket (allen) drive. This is for an Amaya XT. It's the screw you change out when switching hooping devices (i.e. cap hoop vs. 15CM round). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My machines came with a full set of extras (4)- have you looked in the operator's kit to see if you got your replacements? If not, all you have to do is look up the part number ( I don't think serial number is important here), and order directly from Melco. If you don't have your parts & technical manual CD, let us know & one of us in here will look it up for you.

        Ken,

You have already been sent the information you need. I would suggest having a couple of these on hand. They are easy to break off if you put too much pressure on them when tightening. My husband sometimes forgets his strenght when tightening them. LOL They are not that expensive and it's good to have extras on hand.

Wow, thanks a TON for the link and advice. I could not find any with my operator's kit, but ordered a few backups as well. I'm new here and didn't expect such a quick and speedy replay.

          Awesome.

Jenny, I had to pay 5.14 per screw from Melco. Do you where I can buy them for less?

It's been a few years since we bought our screws and I can't remember exactly how much we paid for them but I know to have them on hand when you need them is worth the cost. If you are careful not to overtighten them they should last you a long time.

I took one of the thumb screws to my local ACE Hardware and had them match the scerw part with something they had in stock. The head is smaller than the thumb screws from Melco but they work just as good and are an exact fit for my hoop arms and my hat frame. They were priced at less than 50 cents each so I stocked up. I have not broken the head of any of these yet and when through several of the ones from Melco. If your local ACE does not have them, try any hardware store in your area, just take the Melco thumb screw with you and they can match it up perfectly.
