  • Help!! Amaya Stuck

My big red was sewing great and then it asked for the 4 million stitch maintence which was to oil the needle bars. Did that when completed,,i did a color change and the machine shot all the way over to needle 16 and the thread grabber went into the back position and now wont move.
i have cleaned and can air everything i could including sensors and nothing..the different errors i get are
    1. no head up
    2. x motor over current error
    3. color change stepper index error
I can not rotate the z bar underneath 360 cause the needle and presser foot are stopped by the thread grabber
under the maintence tab if i hit home under color change i get a beep if i click on home under grabber it will either beep or make a clicking sound
also under sensors tab: it reads under color change: index and home blocked
    grabber: blocked
    y axis: blocked
z axis: index blocked safe blocked

im hoping this is understanding if anyone could give me advice or ideas of what might be wrong or i could check would be great help,,thanks

How much oil did you put on the individual needlebars, especially the active one at the time? You really need to AGRESSIVELY blow out the color index sensor as well as the needlecase home sensor.

Make sure the Grabber blade and a needlebar are not locked together.

Make sure all takeup levers are horizonally lined up with each other and that all needlebars are in their upper most positions. If they are not, depress the E-stop and manually rotate the Z-axis shaft to accomplish this. If the machine is running, make sure the E-stop is depressed and physically move the needlecase so that a needle is lined up with the presserfoot and the needleplate hole. If it is centered exactly, you should be able to get a headup command.

If the sensors and flags are clean, you should be able to go into Maintenance , Steppers and click on Home in the Grabber column and then click on Home in the Color Change column. The needlecase should go to the #9 needle position that is, if the sensors and flags are clean.

Thanks for the reply,,after I posted this did the things you mentioned and got the needle case to move it seems to be working now but now my problem is the thread grabber below the pressor foot,,,it was working when i did the home and test under steppers tab but now it seems to be stuck in the back position in between the velcro blade and if i hit the home button it makes a weird noise

As you are left clicking on the grabber Home tab, tug or push and pull on the grabber blade with your other hand. for some reason the grabber is either out of sync or it is stuck and is going in to kind of a safe stall mode. If something binds the grabber it does make an awful racket which is normal...give that a try...
