I take it we no longer can queue a design to a machine that is running? Using Amaya and design shop v9.00.099. In version 7 I could which was great, now it will only display idle machines to choose from. Any thoughts??
Also, it is suggested to set the lower auto feed in the thread feed for acti feed, to 4-5 for normal, 6-7 for hats. When trying this, I had nothing but false thread breaks and false bobbin breaks. Yes, set the bobbin tension to what they suggest, drop about an inch for acti feed. Before I was setting the thread feed at 2 which seemed to work well. Machines are about 5-6 years old. Is this 4-5 setting working for others using version9??

Yes, changing the settings in auto actifeed is very useful and takes trial and error. I have two XT's and each one requires a different setting depending on the embroidery project. The bobbin tension is crucial to the thread break issue and the correct bobbin makes a difference. I only use NEB bobbins, but I have heard others claim success with Coats. Keep in mind that every machines, even though identical, will not be a "one setting fits all" type of thing. The XT is just a tool and as with any tool, knowing the best way to adjust it to your skill is key.

GF,

Now THAT was just a perfect answer, even to the use of NEB bobbins.....could not have said it better myself. Thank you.

OK, thanks, that was pretty much the conclusion I have come to concerning our machines. Wish we could just set it and forget it, but sadly, that would be too easy. Any thoughts as to the design queue from design shop to the machines? Is it no longer possible to queue to machines that are active? Wish they would keep the great features of each version and only improve the "not so great"!

Sadly, they only have so much "real estate" to use in offering the different features. Sometimes they have to omit some of the features in order to have enough real estate to offer the new ones. They try to omit the features they think are the least useful or used the least to make room for the new ones.

That Frankly is bunk,
With a programing background here,
The only reason to drop features is to prevent the need to support the function.
there were issues with all of the fnctions removed from V7 to V9 and Melco choose to remove them rather the put the effort in fixing them.

This is a fact that a software tech at melco verifies.

The Idea that there is not enought real estate to premit them is not true. it can be solved with an additional dialog box. so We have no room Is not an excuse.

Do any of you use corel draw, of other embroidery software Welcom has all the functionality and more. I know they also have a larger part of the market but Melco is not going to beat them with the "WE HAVE NO ROOM LINE"

They need to find the room and make the program more stable then they will be a contender.
Until then, they will remain th apple computer to the others windows.

It may be better but it will always have a poor market share.

I for one wish they would take the offencive..

They would leave the comp. in the dust.

My goodness!

My comment is a direct quote from Melco.

Sorry Sharon

The "bunk" comment was directed to Melco.

I agree that is the Melco line But it still does not make it true.

It is a poor way to grow a customer base and it makes it hard to recommend Melco software to others. when they consider a solution to a problem or a need, is to remove it and pretend it does not exist.
