  • can't trace at machine

I have lost the ability to trace at the machine. I can still go to the computer and use the function from there. Don't know if I somehow turned it off, if you even can. Where do I look for a solution?
    Thanks,

    Darlene,
Can you fully explain out this issue?
Please list all the steps you do before and after trying to do the trace at the machine.
Also include what version of AOS you are running, size of design, and size of hoop you have selected in AOS
    thanks,

      Mike,
I have Version 9. I follow the steps in order from the class I took from Colleen. I load the design, select the hoop, center the hoop, assign colors, check orientation, then to the machine to do a trace. I can move the hoop around using the keypad, and all other functions seem to work. Just the trace doesn't work.
I am not at the machine now. But any suggestions you give I will try first thing tomorrow.
      Thanks ahead for your input.

If you could take and post step by step what you are doing and what happens both at the machine and in AOS
        thanks,

As a tech and trainer, I have had a number of customer's unintendedly hit the wrong buttons on the machine's keypad when trying to perform the trace function.
Be sure you are hitting the "Hoop" button and the button in the upper left corner of the keypad.
When folks read the "cheat sheet" just behind the keypad, the printing was a little on the light side and if you didn't focus on it well, it looks like to perform the trace function you are to hit the hoop and the laser buttons together. Upon closer inspection, it is in fact the hoop button plus the trace button (upper left hand corner) that enables a trace at the the machine.
