  • Hiccup - Y Axis tension assistance

Back in March, I posted regarding a hiccup that causes my Amaya to skip and the Y registration to be off about a millimeter. I had a couple of suggestions, but no solutions posted.

I have a very large design to stitch out tomorrow (nearly 170,000 stitches) and the problem is recurring. In 1400 stitches I've had three hiccups. I've stopped the machine, pulled out the stitching, and realigned each time.

I would really appreciate any assistance in correcting this problem so I don't spend all day pulling out stitches. I believe I may need to tighten the pulley screws, but I don't want to tighten the wrong screw or tighten too tightly.

    Thank you!!

I think this is something your tech will probably need to look at. The cables need to be at a certain tension & he/she has the proper tools/knowledge to fix this.

Have you tried calling Melco Tech Support? Are you under contract with them for support? I highly suggest it. If it's your cables, you need a tech to adjust them, and it does sound like your cables are off.

I normally do my own maintenance, but like to have some backup when doing something new. The issue turned out to be temperature related. Once the room was warmed up and the Amaya was warm, there were no further problems.
