Wow! A miracle! (not to slight Hugo, Rod, and the good guys here...but to get one from Melco!)
get the coffee pot on with fresh special brew, hit the local bakery for some fine 'eats'...get the grill warming up for a nice steak dinner...and pamper the tech...seriously ! LOL...and clear your brain, shut the phone off, put the 'closed' sign out...and soak up EVERYTHING this tech does for you. Don't be afraid to ask questions-all the techs we have met and heard about LOVE to explain what the machines will do, even watching them do a test pattern will teach you some tricks...take full advantage of it!

When Melco says they will send a tech, they will dispatch one of the third party techs--which ever one they find that is available and closest to you at the time. I am not sure Melco has techs in house any longer---they have phone techs now due to all the layoffs. All techs receive the same training however, so glad to hear someone is coming! Let us know the outcome.

        Jodi,
Don't keep us in suspense. Who was your tech and what was the problem/noise that he or she found???

I've been so busy embroidering that I haven't had time to send an update, sorry about that! The tech was Frank Davis and he lives about an hour from me. When he got here, he tried testing the machine and at first, it didn't make the really loud noise, but after about a minute or so, the noise started. He immediately shut if off and said he'd heard enough! He made a face of pain and said he never heard anything like that and he was going to do a complete overall to make sure everything was set correctly and see if he could find the problem. It took about an hour and he found many of the settings on the machine were off and one of the belts in the back was super loose, which he said was probably what was causing the noise. He went over everything and set everything to the original settings, changed all the needles, etc. When he was done and tested it, the noise was gone and the machine is now running like new. The machine is a 2007 and he said it is in very good condition. He even told me that the former owner would want it back if he knew how good it was running now!

The best was, I have two other Babylock BMP8's here and one of them was having problems with continuous 'wiper errors' every time it would cut the thread...this made the machine impossible to get anything done without sitting right near the machine to fix the errors. Anyway, the tech didn't even look at either of those machines, but miraculously while he was here, the wiper errors stopped happening without me changing a thing. I've had only a handful of wiper errors since he was here. Go figure! Not sure why or how, but I think the machine must have known there was a 'tech in the house' and decided to straighten up LOL.

Thanks again for all of your input and help!

          Jodi

            Jodi,
I don't know Frank but from what I hear, he's a nice guy.

I also need a tech. I am in Central AZ, near Sedona. I have an ethernet communication error, and have tried all the fixes on these posts, had 3 IT people look at it, and tried 2 different computers with different OS. If interested, available, and able to fix, please call me at 602 373 6763.

Dozer, just sent a private response to your private message. I, too, used two different computers but they were both the same brand--HP.
