HELP! It's the weekend and we need help with our machine. First it would not trim nicely, so I changed the knife. Then, it would trim off and on, grabbing the bobbin thread but not cutting it and the top thread would sling shot out of the needle. I searched online for answers and saw that maybe my hook timing may be off. I did that, the needle gap, cleaned the area and lubercated everything. Now, the thread is shredding right off the bat when it starts to sew and it looks like it's getting all tangled. I checked the tension of the bobbin and it's good. What else should I check?

IS THERE A TECH IN HAWAII THAT CAN SERVICE OUR MACHINE?

Have you tried changing your needle and if you did change the needle did you get it in the right direction? Is it just doing the shredding on one particular needle/thread cone or all of them?
If it's one change that color to a different needle or put on a new cone of thread.

I did change the needle. I am changing all the red roller and all of the thread feeder rollers too. It happens on all needles and all colors.

Make sure that the needle is in the very middle of the needle plate- do this by putting in a new needle (don't thread it up yet>do a bottom center (tools>maintenance>head timing)>see if the needle is in the very center of the hole, if not, loosen the 2 screws that hold the needle plate in place and adjust & retighten the screws>head up>thread up & see how it goes.

ok, so I got a hold of the melco tech. The selector was way too forward. Now, it's cutting the top thread but not the bobbin thread.

Hi Leighton, it could be that the knife is not extending out as far as it should or the selector is not grabbing the bobbin. Does it sometimes trim the bobbin too short?
