If you're doing lots of these and don't want to have to trim backing by hand, I have used a combination of Supersoft tearaway plus another layer of a lightweight regular tearaway (although not specifically on lab coats). The Supersoft lends a bit more support to the design than most light tearaways while the regular tearaway keeps the design crisp.

Due to the commercial laundering they go through
I would not rec. Weblon it tends to pucker in high temps.
I would recommend a 2 to 2.5 oz cutaway as it stands up to
a great deal of abuse and maintains a good base.
