Bobbins

Hi all

I've got an XTS and I want to wind some bobbins with coloured thread. I've got a couple of questions:

1. What size bobbins should I get?
2. Are metal bobbins better quality than plastic in terms of the way that they perform (not thinking about longevity)

Melco machines use the "L" bobbins. I have never seen metal bobbins for our commercial Melco machines so I am not sure what you are referring to. Home sewing machines rewind on metal bobbins however. Remember that bobbin thread is 60 weight so using regular 40 weight polyester thread will be heavier and you will have to adjust your bobbin tension.
