Embroidery on vinyl

I am new to the industry and am going to try to embroider on vinyl for a boat seat. Does anyone know if there is a special thread I should use that is UV protected? Any other tips on doing vinyl would be greatly appreciated...

I'd use Polyester thread. It is strong and colorfast.

Be careful with stitch density, especially on columns. You can perforate the edges so much that the design actually will punch out.
