I would like to know what type of backing is best when embroidering on the thin, stretchy tops such as the Fila brand active wear. I am finding that once the shirt is hooped it tends to buckle. I have tried several cut away backings including Madeira's special light weight backing for active wear. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

For items such as this (including 100% poly shirts), I use a piece of tear away backing on the front of the shirt with the center cut out to allow for the embroidery. It helps keep the fabric stable in the hoop.
