I had a supplier (Wawak) try to tell me that the Organ 16x257 needle was identical to the DBxK5 we use, so I did a search and found some great info. on needles that I thought might be helpful (they are not the same!). I've attached the links below, but first I have two questions:
I am interested in the DBx7ST needle for metallics, but so far I have only found them at Diamond Needle where they are sold by the thousand. Does anyone know another supplier who would sell them by the 100?
Is the following quote about these metallic needles referring to the needle depth, the hook to needle gap, or something else?
"The [larger] eye is struck on the same axis as other needles — This means that of the additional 0.8mm of length, the top of the eye is now 0.4mm closer to the bottom of the hook point. If the machine is properly tuned, this needle is interchangeable with other needles and works very well. On the other hand, if the hook point is set low in the scarf, you will encounter repeated thread breaks and shredding. You may have to retune your machine to use this needle."
