  • Having trouble

What is causing bird nesting on top of design and thread shredding every few letters?

  • #2
    Assorted theories:

    1) Too much thread feed.
    2) Improper hooping (too loose)
    3) Improper backing (not enough)
    4) Bobbin case issues
    5) VERY narrow columns (the bane of my existence)

It also never hurts to check a needle, change bobbin/bobbin case, or put on a new spool of thread.

Go higher and check the pinch rollers and wheels.

Open up settings and be certain your thread feed is set appropriately for the fabric/design/backing.

Sometimes the designs themselves can be the culprits.

Check hooping -- tight enough but not too tight, can't push up a wrinkle when going on the diagonal/vertical/horizontal, and backing is correct for fabric and design.

          Auto tension or manual tension?

          Threaded correctly?

Does it on one needle or all needles?
