  • Venere cutting needles

Does anyone know about using the Venere cutting needles on the Amaya XT? They are used for cutting out fabric on the machine similar to cutwork for eyelet embroidery. According to the crystal design software I am using, they can be used. Just thought I would get some outside recommendations. Thanks,

That's correct. I having been using these for about 2 years now in my Amaya XT. You'll need the commercial (round shank) Venere needles. Don't know which software you are using, but a dealer which sells Artistic software http://www.artisticsewingsuite.com/ can get these needles for you, or Gunold.com (if they still have any in stock). They are expensive ($50/per needle retail), and you'll need four of them to manually orient them at 0, 45, 90 and 135 degrees. You'll have to turn off the upper thread sensor in the Amaya OS for the needle bars that you put these needles in (i.e., 1-4, 13-16).

Thank you for your reply. When you say manually orient them, does that mean I determine if they are at the correct angle, like any needle I insert that is set at the recommended 5 degree angle? If so, do you have a special tool that helps with that? Hopefully, I made that clear, LOL!!

I am excited to get started on it.

Gunold had a Venere needle kit with an angle tool. You may want to call them if they are still available. I don't know where you would get a tool otherwise, and you'd have to manually orient the Venere needles just like you orient the organ needles at 5 degrees.
