Does anyone have a formula of settings for thick spongy horse pads? The Slim-Line clamp will hold them but I haven't been able to figure out the right setting to sew lettering on them. The lettering is block and wide enough, the presser foot is all the way up but buries itself in the pad and the thread breaks and ravels. Help.

I am running a Big Red with DS Ver 7.00.114. The material is 1/4" thick so I have the lower limit set to 19, material thickness at 9.
