  • Fill on Cycling Jersey

I need to put a 9" by 1.5" banner on the back of a lycra cycling jersey. I was hoping to give it some stretch by using Burmilana and wash away stabilizer. I've set the fill stitches on the bias. Used edge and fill stitches for the underlay. In the end there isn't much stretch. Any suggestions on how to give the fill some stretch?

I would try getting rid of all underlay. The purpose of underlay is to stabilize so it won't stretch. And I make the stitch angle 0 deg - straight across. ?And loosen tension.

I would re think your efforts

If you put stretch in the design it will result in cupping and waving the design will never stretch and return as does spandex.

You will be replacing the garment.
