bag embroidery

A customer wants me to embroider a bag that's made of what looks like tyvek--like the mailing envelopes only heavier. Will embroidery work on this or will it 'cut out' the letters? Thanks for your help. Dianne

If it's just the Tyvek material with no liner- I would probably try to stick to running stitches. But if you have a scrap bag or piece of the material, as is in many cases when we are asked to stitch an unfamiliar product, you will have to try it out before commiting to do the job.
