• Combining Designs

When I combine designs (like a Santa hat) with another (dog) how I can I remove the stitching on the first design so that it isn't causing way too many stitches on top of each other.
I know this might be basic to many of you but it is something I haven't mastered. I am using Design Shop Pro 4.1. No wisecracks please

First I put the designs on backwards...the hat would be behind the dog's head. Make sure the dog is wireframe. start clicking on areas where the dog's head covers the Santa Hat. Remove those stitches. Sometimes adjusting the outline down works. Leave enough so there there is an overlap. Repeat with all colors. Tear hair out and vow to never do again!

Oh yes, and when done, reorder the designs so the hat stitches after the dog. D'oh!

You can also use the "insert hole in selected element" to help in this process as well.
