Looking for a nice, clean sewing, micro alphabet that is digitized for .16 or so. Since Melco no longer handles these things, I have been looking on-line, but have not found anything close to that size. Anyone have any suggestions as to who sells this? (I have and currently use the micro fonts in DS and with some adjusting, can get them smaller, but I know there are fonts specifically made to sew smaller than .20, just can't locate them.) Thanks.

Been searching for this particular font for some time now with no results. Many of the fonts I have found which they call a micro, or small font it set for .40 or .50 which in my book is not a micro font. Anyone out there find this font somewhere and if so, WHERE?? Thanks.

If you need REALLY small text, it might be best to go with 60-weight thread and smaller needles (like a 65/9 needle) to make crisp small lettering look good. If you are digitizing your own designs, you will probably have to adjust the density a bit to get the exact effect you want to achieve.Jim Sulsona

I use the Arial-Dak font (EA) that came with my DSpro+ software- it looks good even down to .17 inches with a double center-walk underlay at 12 points. (Pull compensation at 170%)

Can someone please convert .16 or .17 of an inch to millimetres? My old brain just isn't computing this very well, and I think it might be between 2mm to 4mm. Am I in the ball-park? Do folks really want embroidered lettering THAT small?
The advice to use a fine thread and needle seemed so sensible - I would never have thought of it, so again, this forum is invaluable.
Thanks all contributors.amayaki

.17 = 4.3mm In DS you can to into TOOLS, OPTIONS, and select the measurement units tab and change any of the items you'd like to whichever units works the best for you and hit apply. They can be different from each other, so change what you want, when you want. Hope this helps!

Two things....adjusting stitch length....when keyboarding/creating lettering, go into properties and in the lettering tab, you can set the set length. Samall lettering should be adjusted to the 16 to 18-ish stitch length.
Converting measurements....in AOS, go into Tools, Options, Measurements and change what ever particular function you wish to ,points, inches centimeters, etc....
