  • Stitches coming loose

Ok, I did some jackets and did the digitizing myself and apparently some of the lettering is coming out so I went in and checked to make sure I had my tie in & out selected and I did with the style 2 selected and I am hearing the letters are starting to loosen.  This is not the first time I have had to redo something when I digitized in DS.  Does it matter what I have in the When to tie box?  I have never switched that from "Only when Necessary"  would this have an effect on my tie in & out?
    Very frustrated at this point....

Sorry Juli, I don't have an answer, but I've always wondered what on earth "only when necessary" meant. So I hope someone can tell us.

I have a related question that the same "expert" can probably help with. My machine seems to have a mind of its own when it comes to trimming. I prefer to digitize to minimize trims because they just cause problems, so why does my machine automatically trim between some elements even if I've selected a trim distance of .5"? Also why does it sometimes ignore my entry and exit points on columns, making trims inevitable? For example, I digitize a vertical column 1 with the entry in the upper left corner, the exit in the upper right, and single zigzag underlay; it starts out with a walk that goes from top to bottom, does the zigzag underlay from bottom to top, then sews the final column from the top down, exiting at the bottom. Why does it ignore my my digitized points and throw every off with the extra walk at the beginning? I guess all these questions are about when the OS seems to override what has been digitized.

Juli, if this doesn't seem related to you, I'd be glad to start another thread; just tell me to go away.

Actually, I have had the same thing happen. I think I fixed it by deleting the offending object and just re-doing it. And if that didn't work, I ran a walk from the top down to the bottom then it was alright. Not right, but a fix. I just finally give up wasting time and figure out how to do it manually. Oh! How we are spoiled!

I have found that I need to select tie in tie out as "always" and this with the entire design selected and then apply and then go to insert menu and with the design selected hit update trims & ties.

        Then it seems to stick.
