Big patches

Oh my goodness; I had no idea there would be this much interest and I haven't looked on the site in a few days. Juli can handle the big patch aspect. What we do involves large and long designs that are done in series or in groups; for example along the edge of a table covering or around the yolk of a garment. We use large hoops and either fusible mesh or spray fuse for this technique; it's not for quick, in-and-out orders. Before I write a long response, is this something you are interested in?

I am in the middle of training with a very good trainer. I have a 45 min video to watch and then play some more. I will be gone all weekend, but then on Mon or Tues we will get together again and do the 2 hr intensive training. Fortunately, I already use DS, Corel, Generations, and StoneCut Pro so I do know something! Not starting from scratch.
I am collecting different materials for when the trainer (a different one) comes and sets up my machine, so we can work on different materials for the sample book. Gotta have samples to show prospective customers.

We have a laser downstairs (I am up on the mezzanine with my 5 Amayas & a Brother GT-782 DTG printer), and we use it for etching glass, burning wood & leather, and cutting plastics. I have limited experience on it- I did some etching on glass and some plastic cutting before our embroidery took off, and with the added responsibility of the printer, I haven't run the laser for over 2 years. It is however, an amazing device, and doesn't need a lot of maintenance- just keep it clean. If you cut the plastic you need to have a vacuum on it to vent the fumes outside. Don't know the brand or anyting, but I can go down and get that info if you need me to.Gregory
