Hoop set up not retained

Help!
When I use Hoop Set Up I choose my hoop, as I always have, save as default, trace and then apply. I lose the setting each time. It reverts to a hoop I rarely use and this causes hoop limit detection on designs I just traced. Nothing new installed so I am perplexed. Can anyone help?

Why not sellect your hoop from the machine view on the right of the page. Don't go to tools and hoop setup. Mine will not save as default either. Never used it that way.
