I have a logo I rec'd from a customer already digized, but I believe for twill shirts. This is full of stitches and puckers on the new dri-tech style garments. They DO NOT want to use applique, they do not want the garment showing through, very insistent. Can anyone show their expertise in digitizing for this type of fabric so I can see how it's done for future use? Seems I either end up with some garment showing through or I think a bit too heavy yet as it puckers no matter the backing used. The file I have is the original changed to ofm. The border can actually be 2 colors which is why it is broken up. Haven't quite figured out how to attach this, but could certainly e-mail it if you would comtact me at: [email protected] THANKS!

Too many stitches for dri-tech shirts

I have in the Past when a customer provides a design of the quality you refer to, Have just used a light fabric under the problem area.
the one that comes to mind was a club logo with dark red fill on a white dri-tech shirt.
I just made a dark red washable satin applique that was covered completly by their design and they never new and it and they still come back for reorders and it has been done for about 6 years now. They did not want the area replaced with fabric either. It is just a cover up.
It is a bit more work but it is a lot less hassle in the long run.

I have no idea if this is feasible, but could you add a basting outline to the design? Something to just tack the fabric to the backing outside the area of the design. You'd have to pick it out later, of course, which is a pain in the neck. I do this sometimes when I'm improvising with my hooping. It seems to help quite a bit. Maybe test out on one of the already puckered up shirts to see if it will leave stitch marks though!
