Loose ends in small text

I am getting quite the annoying loose threads at the end of letters. Not always the same letter, and has happened with the DS9 lettering and also with small lettering of an Artwork Source digitized logo. I also get mis-starts both from the thread popping out of the needle after a trim and from the stitch "not tying" in at the beginning of the next letter.

I've checked this forum before and made adjustments to the Tie in/off style. I read a favorite tie was #5 but no luck.

Any comments is very much appreciated.

Tricia,
Stick with the Tie in/off style #1. This is the most common as it's also your default.

However, make sure that you have chosen "Auto Tie" as on and that it's value is the same as what you've chosen for your "Auto Trim" setting.

For whatever the reason, in the DS ver.9 software, the "Auto Tie" feature is not turned on by default.
