  • Help! Removing Temporary Adhesive.

I just did a big project that included applique. I used temporary adhevsive on the fabric and it's showing on the fabric. Does anyone have any ways to remove this from the fabric. It always seems to disappear with time but not this time.

Here's a helpful hint for next time you use sticky paper that someone else told me. Use iron on totaly stable first, then your sticky paper and you won't have that residue from the sticky paper. Hope this helps you.

You can try Naphtha it will remove the adhesive but may leave a slight color darkening until it is washed. I have used it for years with no damage to any fabric including silk.

Next time spray a small amount of adhesive on the applique not the garment. and if you can see it you have used WAY!!! too much. and let it get tacky before putting it on the garment.

I can tell you that w the PSA (pressure Sensitive Adhesives) that we deal with they are removed by adding a citrus astringent like Goo Be Gone

If you do sew thru these types of adhesive - slow you machine aspeed dwn by maybe 1/2 and buy some silicone spray -spray it on a rag and then wipe down the needles.
And next ttime sew tru only nedle friendly adhesives)
        Or use titanium needles
