    Hi Paulscyn,

Sorry I do not have the EMT-10 nor Design Shop so I am unable to answer your questions. I do all of my digitizing in Bernina V6 which is made by Wilcom. The numbers I posted are for the Amaya OS in hoop setup.

On another note, I have been testing new Mighty Hoops for Hoopmaster and have provided them a detailed Amaya OS hoop setup tutorial with all the coordinates for all sizes of their Mighty Hoops that they can provide to their customers.

Hoopmaster has redesigned their 5.5 x 5.5 Mighty Hoop and it is blue instead of white. Fortunately, the coordinates I have provided in this message thread work for those as well.

    Cheers,

Why did they redesign the 5.5x5.5 hoop??
I have not had any issues.
Should I be watching for something?

        Hi Greenwing,

Hoopmaster did a slight redesign of the 5.5 x 5.5 Mighty Hoop. Things that don't affect how they work are: (1) they are injection molded rather than ecthed/cut from plastic, (2) cosmetic changes such as the metal warning piece on the hoop and the bottom magnetic ring are recessed flat (with color markings) into the hoop and ring, rather than attached on top of the hoop and ring and (3) the Mighty Hoop logo and "Strong Magnets" Warning is molded into the hoop alongside the metal brackets.

A change that Hoopmaster claims may be an improvement to secure lightweight fabric better is the bottom ridge of the hoop that makes contact with the fabric was widened from 2mm to 4mm. However, I didn't have any problem with the old hoop securing silk dupioni or velvet. The magnets are as strong as they were with the old hoop. So I wouldn't worry that your old hoop isn't as good as the new hoop. I didn't find any noticeable differences in performance or how they are used between the old and new 5.5" x 5.5" Mighty Hoops. Hoopmaster claims that the injection molded process allows them to manufacture these hoops more efficiently.

Still since I first got my Mighty Hoops almost a year ago (I have ten now in assorted sizes), I have yet to use a conventional or Slimline hoop. I may pack those away indefinitely!

        Cheers,
        Ed "Kanga" Roux

          Thanks Ed
I can see how injection molding can be much more cost effective for them.

          Thanks for your help..

I talked to Hoop masters yesterday at DAX here in MN.

They are still planning to make a 13x6 hoop for sleeves and legs, I will be the first in line.

Oh yes I forgot to mention you only need to enter your hoop sizes once as the hoop file in the AOS is the same in DS.
You can just copy it over to the DS folder from the AOS.
          the file path should be
          C:\Program Files (x86)\Melco\Design Shop 2008\system\Hoops.mdb

            Hoop.mdb

            no "s"

Change the name of the current one to "oldHoop.mdb" just in case you want to restore it at a later date.

As some of you may remember, last September I asked the HoopMaster Santa Claus for a hoop larger than the 11 x 13 Mighty Hoop http://www.amayausers.com/boards/cgi...20.html#000008, and he listened and asked HoopMaster to contact me. So last November I helped them design the brackets so their new 13" x 16" Mighty Hoop could be used on the Amaya. I had the very first 13" x 16" Mighty Hoop for the Amaya before Thanksgiving. It is a very beautiful hoop, and works just as well as the other sizes. I liked it so much I now have two. The 13" x 16" has a generous maximum sew field shape of 11.8" x 14.8".

I just got permission from HoopMaster to let you guys know that it is now available. However, in order to use it on the Amaya, YOU MUST ALSO HAVE the Amaya Tubular Sash Right and Left Brackets (Melco Part Number 32842 http://www.shopmelco.com/product_p/32842.htm and Part Number 32843 http://www.shopmelco.com/product_p/32843.htm, respectively). This is because the wider 16" width of this hoop will not fit your Amaya with the standard hoop brackets. If you already have and are using the Melco 20.7" x 16.8 (53 cm x 43 cm) Tubular Sash Hoop Part #30998, then you probably have the Amaya Tubular Sash Right and Left Brackets.

AGAIN, IF YOU DON'T HAVE THESE TUBULAR SASH RIGHT AND LEFT BRACKETS, YOU WILL NEED TO GET THEM FIRST FROM MELCO BEFORE YOU ARE ABLE TO USE THE NEW 13" X 16" MIGHTY HOOP.

If you contact HoopMaster to acquire one (or more) of these wonderful hoops, also ask for a copy the HoopMaster Mighty Hoop Setup in Melco AMAYA OS guide that I prepared for them for their customers which has the detailed instructions on how to add custom hoop configurations for the 4.25 x 4.25, 5.5 x 5.5, 10 x 10, 11 x 13 and 13 x 16 Mighty Hoops into the AMAYA OS. Thanks to Jerome in Minnesota (Greenwing), you can also copy the Hoop.mdb to use these hoop configurations in Design Shop as well.

However, below are the custom setup coordinates for the 13 x 16 Mighty Hoops. Please note that you will need to add X and Y Hoop offsets as noted:

              13 x 16 Mighty Hoop, Max Sewing Field 11.8 x 14.8
X HOOP OFFSET 0.06 in Y HOOP OFFSET -2 in:
              Point / X, Y

Oh, forgot to mention, there is also a 13" x 16" Mighty Hoop fixture that fits on your HoopMaster Main Station. But you may need to order the Drilling Jig http://www.mightyhoop.com/order%20pages/order-jig.html so that you can accurately drill new holes in your HoopMaster Main Station to enable it to accommodate the new 13" x 16" Mighty Hoop Fixture.

                Cheers,

Does anyone have the hoop.mdb file that they could download for us that includes all the Mighty Hoops? I see the instructions for entering all those numbers to add a new hoop, but couldn't we just save a new hoop.mdb file to the Melco/system which already included all the settings for the Might Hoops?

                    Hi All,

Thanks to MJ for letting me know, I got a couple of the new 7.25 x 7.25 Mighty Hoops and a 7.25 Mighty Hoop Fixture. This is another great Mighty Hoop size. Previously I often wanted a Mighty Hoop between the 5.5" and the 10" square Mighty Hoops. Now I have it!

With this new hoop addition, I also updated the Melco Amaya OS Hoop Master Mighty Hoop Setup Instructions that I prepared for HoopMaster to give to their Mighty Hoop customers. I don't know if any of you guys received a previous version of it, but if you have, I hope it was clear and understandable.

I also provided to HoopMaster my hoop.mdb file with all my current Mighty Hoop definitions (4.25 x 4.25, 5.5 x 5.5, 7.25 x 7.25, 10 x 10, 8 x 13, 11 x 13 and 13 x 16 hoops). I gave an earlier version to MJ (did you get it?). Too bad I can't post it on this site. If you have previously added other custom hoops to your Amaya OS that you want to retain, then do not use my hoop.mdb file as you will overwrite your hoop.mdb file and lose your previous hoop definitions.

The new 7.25 x 7.25 hoop and the new Mighty Hoop Adjustable Fixture are not yet on the http://www.mightyhoop.com website, but you can order them by calling HoopMaster at 1-800-900-0741. Please tell them that Ed Roux sent you.

The new Mighty Hoop Adjustable Fixture http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEvhJ...ature=youtu.be is a cool fixture that is adjustable to use on the 7.25", 10x10", 8x13", 11x13", 13x16" Mighty Hoops. The main reason for making this was to reduce the cost for customers that wanted multiple size large hoops. This way they only need the one fixture. Now I can choose to just use this new Adjustable Fixture. So easy!

                    Cheers and enjoy!
                    Ed "Kanga" Roux

I have the file here but I am having issues with my hosting company they have. removed my Ftp.
So I have to get something else set up.

I am sorry I have not gotten this done already.

just does not seem to be enough time in a day.

                      I will get on it.
In the mean time I will sens "email" the file for all that ask.

Hi, yes, I'd sure like to get the measurements to add the Mighty Hoop 7.25 hoop to my list of hoops too. I like this size -- it will be used a lot!

These hoops are pretty heavy and seem to rub a lot more on the center tubular arm -- has anyone had any trouble because of that?

                              Hi MJ,

I use the Amaya XT Large Tabletop http://www.shopmelco.com/product_p/33278.htm with my Mighty Hoops, and my other conventional and slim-line hoops. So I don't get the rubbing on the center tubular arm. There are also small and medium-sized table versions. The Tabletop never comes off my Amaya XT except when I use the wide angle cap frame driver.

                              Cheers,
                              Ed "Kanga" Roux

                                Finally

Eds Hoop.mdb file can be downloaded for my web site.

If you would like the file.

                                Please feel free to visit

                                http//www.greenwingusa.com

on the home page I have AMAYA as an option in the navagation menu.
when you go to the page you will see a link to the file.
Just right click it and download the zip file.
Unzip it and swap it for the one in your software.
(be sure to rename your original file and then name this one Hoop.mdb and next time you run design shop or the AOS you will have the hoops avaiable.

Feel free to contact me if you have any problems.

AND ABOVE ALL THANK YOU ED for your help getting this all set up.
