  • Stablizer for handerchiefs and Pashmina silk scarves

Embroidering poems on handerchiefs. What type of stabilizer should I use and what size needle?

Also I am monogramming on Pashmina scarves. Stabilizer? Size needle?

    Thanks

On Pashmina we have had several successes w our fibrous washaway aka Vilene
Re handkerchief - what is your apprx stitch count? Is it dense? Any satin stitches?
    and is the handkerchief slippery?

If you anse]wer pls copy me direct as I am traveling on the East Coast

Fred, thanks for your response. Nice to hear from you again. I do have a supply of vilene, which I use to make FSL. I will try that as stabilizer for the Pashmina.

The stitch count for poems are less than 2000 sts, dense, and has satin stitches. The font is mostly in script between 1/4" - 1/2" h. Some hankies are slippery and some are cotton.

Some hankies are black in color and don't want the stabilizer to show. I Want the underneath to look as good as the top.

      Have a safe trip.
