I have been asked to price some shirts for a basketball church team, that want to use mesh shirts. I don't know the proper way to underlay, and what kind of backing to use. Thanks for any suggestions.

I did some of those years ago for a company that supplied volleyball teams with the same jerseys. I used very heavy tear-away backing- about as heavy as cap backing (3 oz.) and had good results. On the underlay issue, I used a zigzag, but narrowed the width of it, so it wouldn't stick out of the edge of the top stitching. Density can be pretty high; say 3.5. Please run a sample before you "commit to the cloth" so to speak. Post if you need more info; and if you have good results too. Best of luck.Gregory
