  • What Type of backing for pillow case

    Hello,
Can anyone tell me what type of backing to use for 100% cotton pillow cases? Thanks.

I use heavywieght cap backing- make sure the backing is TIGHT, just dont stretch the fabric. If it is a high-density design, use a couple of pieces. And, as always, do a sew-out on a scrap first.

It's 3/4" high text. Do you reccommend sharp needle for the cotton pillowcase

We use 2 layers of 1.5oz tearaway backing on our pillowcase monograms. We're using ballpoint 75/11 needles.

Make sure that you hoop nice and tight to avoid wrinkles in the finished embroidery.

What is your approx stitch count and density - any satin stitching?
I may suggest one or 2 layers of a 1.5 oz or a 1.8 oz "wet laid" non directional tearaway

            http://www.lebowconsulting.com/stabilizer-glossary.htm - wet laid

We also make fuse and Tear in a fusible version for slippery linens

Pls contact me direct for samples

            Sincerely
            Fred
