I am stitching 1/2 names on the rt chest and I am seeing the material pull. Does anyone know what is causing it or any suggestions?

If you have it use a low temp Iron-on tearaway
If not use a small amount of spray adhesive on your backing.

the material is moving while stitching push pull or alike.

You may also try increasing your material thickness setting by a few if is 3 set it to 5 or 6 it can help with satin columns.

I think Greenwing is right- the material is slipping on top of the backing while stitching. Not being a big fan of using anything sticky on our machines, I hoop the garment pretty tightly- you can thump it & it won't give, just not ""tight as a drum" tight. One more thing- is the presser-foot height at 1 or 2? If it's higher, this could be interfering as well. I use heavy wieght tear-away.

I have done a lot of lightweight denim and thanks to Fred, I'm a big fan of mesh now...1 piece of mesh on top (against the skin) with a 1.5 oz tearaway under it and we get no puckering at all-they look great. Haven't used adhesive in over a year or so...because it gums up everything. Hoop snug, use mesh...and loosen up the lettering. Minimum of 4.5, or even 5 and it won't be so tight. 120-130 for pull comp.
