  • Hoops you will want to take a look at

    Hi all,
I want to share a part of an email I received from Allied International. I have been discussing hoops witht them the past year+ and they have made some wonderful changes. I have a picture I need to post but not sure how to do it through our forum. Their hoops have markings all over them and they are built incredibly sturdy--I love them! The really cool thing is that Hoopmaster is working on some modifications to accept these hoops in our existing Hoopmaster. I will post a picture as soon as I figure out how... Below is part of Amar's email:
    Sharon

I also wanted to inform you that since we spoke last, we have launched a full e-commerce website, and we are soon going to come out with a new line of rectangular plastic hoops, as well as a redesign of our round AGL hoops. As you had mentioned in your previous e-mail, you did not particularly enjoy the tightening screw design of our round AGL hoops. We have redesigned them to include a long screw (similar to the ones in our larger 24x30 and 30x30 plastic hoops) as well as other upgraded features. We currently only have them in 15 cm for Tajima/Toyota machines, but we will eventually carry them in all sizes for all brands of machines. I have attached a picture of the new design for your reference.

I hope to hear from you soon!

Not yet Susan, but they are working on them and I don't think it will be long. They are sure good looking hoops and I love all the markings!

        Hi Sharon,
Didn't get the first post. What hoops are these. I am always looking for new hoops in different sizes.

Hi Barb, below is the post I posted a few days ago. I am not affiliated with this company but the sales rep and I have been corresponding over the past year or so on what I like or didn't like on one of their hoops and he wrote me to give me an update. Their hoops are nicer and built more sturdy than our Melco hoops and have markings all over them. I have expressed my concern on having to get additional fixtures for my HoopMaster to use them so we are waiting to see how that can be addressed as well. Today I sent him a photo of how we have modified our HoopMaster to accommodate the 30x36 Melco hoop which we removed the thumb screw and put the longer screw in. I am anxious to see what they come up with and do have a picture of their new hoop.

I looked at the website and it is nice that the smaller hoops have grid marks on the arms. But, what I think would be most helpful is notches all the way around on the top ring... especially at the center points. This would make aligning and centering so much easier. Maybe they are there, but I could not see them in the pictures (even when enlarged!)

Never mind! I just looked a little closer at the web site and found that they do do this! When I need more hoops I will certainly look here.

David, I just received another photo of the newest size hoop they will be releasing. It will be a little while before they release ones for the Amaya. I will add a part of Amar's most recent email:

As far as a time frame for Melco versions of our new hoop style, it would still be a few months until we sell our stock of older style hoops and introduce the newer ones. But we are most likely going to sell just the replacement outer hoop of the new style, so people can just purchase that and use it with their older inner hoops. Once we finalize all the details of that, I'll let you know.

I also wanted to let you know about our new Premium AGL 19 x 20 cm (7.5" x 8.0") hoop! Many people have asked us for smaller "square" hoops over the years, and we have now developed this hoop. I have attached a picture of it. As you can see, along with the patented Grid on the hoop arms and reference lines on the inside inner hoop wall, it also features straight edge lips on all four sides of the hoop along with reference lines and characters for easy, accurate hoop alignment and placement. We have not yet started selling this hoop on our site, but we will in the next couple of weeks. I will send additional information about this hoop in the next couple of days. There will eventually be 3 additional smaller sizes developed over the next few months.

The new hoops have markings all over the place on top and inside of the hoops. If you will give me your email address, I will forward the larger picture of the new hoop so you can get a good look at them. Send it to [email protected]

                  Hi Sharon,

It sure would be nice if Allied International (or anyone else for that matter) would make a hoop larger than Melco's 53 x 43 Tubular Sash Hoop that will let us utilize the whole Amaya 16" x 15.6" sewing field. That would be just super!

I sent an email today to HoopMaster telling them that I am wishing they will show me larger Mighty Hoops at the January 2011 ISS Long Beach Show. I hope Santa Claus is good to me, because I would even stand in line for a prototype. I use the Mighty Hoops for everything, until I need a larger hoop or do a cap. My old smaller conventional plastic hoops and certainly my expensive SlimLine hoops and brackets collection are collecting dust!

                  Cheers,
                  Ed "Kanga" Roux
