I digitized this logo twice, with color changes. Amaya stops at the color change. I manually move to the next color and have to push the start button twice, then it goes on about it's way until the next color change. Is there a list or sheet as to what order of each step to digitizing? I'm using d Design Shop V-7. I also rebooted the computer.

In V7, the color changes are at the bottom of your screen. If you are new to this, you should probably use the Help files to see what you should be doing. This is in DS
In OS, you have to set the needle sequence before your start sewing. Then it will change automatically.
Have you had training? I ask because this is a very basic thing.

Juli - I have not had any training, except for the training CD's. This is mostly as a hobby. Let me check it out when I get time. Thanks so much for your help.
Dan
PS I used the color change tool in the tool bar in the upper left corner.
Thanks again.

Do you define your color palette & use those colors in your design? I find this to be one of the most helpful tools in the DS/OS sofware. You have to check a box in settings>color>use colors from design (or something very close to that sequence). Watch those training CDs till your mind goes numb if you can't do training & then, like any instrument- practice, practice, practice-sewout, sewout, sewout- you get the idea.Gregory

You have to set your colors in Amayas OS. Look and see how many colors it has showing, it probably is only one. If you don't, it will do one color and stop, just as you have indicated. I set my colors the same as on my machine and Amaya automatically chooses the needle color changes.

Dan,
There's a problem somewhere. We're running Design Shop and OS V7 and I can do color changes automatically. Once I have the design and its color changes set up in Design Shop, I send it to the machine. Once I have it in Amaya OS, I set colors manually on the right hand side of the screen. Color 1=Needle Whatever; Color 2=Needle NextThing and so on. As long as I don't tell it to pause between colors, it moves right along on its own.
Have you tried testing it out with a pre-digitized design from DesignShop? Our tech uses a butterfly as his test design. Are you getting any error messages in AmayaOS when it stops for a color change? There's that little bar in the bottom left corner of the OS window that keeps a log of everything the machine tries to tell you...

In DS...color break.
In AOS... setting color sequencing.
It may be helpful to use the correct names. This way we are all talking the same language and in the same groove and on the same page....so to speak. The "color selection box" on the AOS screen is marked "Color Sequencing."
Dan....a quick way to find out if the machine will color change on its own with all 16 needles, would be to sew the Amtrim test design. This design is used to test the trimming function of the machine but it also can have 84 color changes if you set the color sequencing for it to do so.
Hoop up a 18cm or larger hoop with a couple layers of good cut-a-way backing.
In AOS you will find the Amtrim design under....C drive, Program Files, Melco Embroidery Systems, Amaya, Test Designs, Amtrim. Load this to the machine.
In AOS, left click on the "Color Sequencing" tab. On the display page that pops up, left click on "Clear all."
On the thread pallette display, left click on 1, then 2, then 3, then 4, do this until you have all 16 needles assigned a color and then left click on apply. In your color sequencing window you should have 16 color changes. Do not add any "holds, pauses, applique stops" or anything else into this color sequencing order. Only select 16 colors, the machine will then "color wrap" for the remaining 84 color changes, meaning that it will sew on all 16 needles and the start over at 1,2,3 and so on...
This test will sew small squares and will color change quickly to see if the machine recognizes the color sequence you have programed into it.
If it won't, I suggest doing a clean un-install of your software and reloading it from scratch.
You indicated that you were using Ver 7 and that you have not had any training...how old is your machine? How long have you had it? Was it demo'ed to you before your bought it? If so,did it work then?

It sounds like there is a stop or pause option pressed within OS. Double check your color setting in OS. My 2 cents. There may also be a way in DS to put in stop settings to force a stop between colors.

I went home and tried the amtrim test. I set color sequence. Color 1 sewed then I have to move manually, then it will sew only the next color and stop. I went in to Maintance - Sensors This is what it says.

I have sewed other designs with no problem. I've had the machine since christmas. The only reason I have to run back and forth between home and office, is that I don't have the internet on the computer for the embroidery. Not as it looks because my office is only across my driveway.

Quote, "I have sewed other designs with no problem."
Will these other designs sew without a problem now??
Is this an XT or a Big Red(Standard) Amaya?
Do you have a digital camera so that you might take a picture of your color sequence screen and email it to me?

Rod I did send you a email with a photo of color sequence. Now I get a window pop up that says something about 199 colors. I erased and started over, now it goes from color to color on two different designs. Later this eve i will try the Amtrim test. As of now it seems my #5 IS ALIVE.
I sure love how everyone comes together when something is not going just right. THANKS AGAIN TO EVERYONE WHO TRIED TO HELP WITH HINTS & TECH TIPS.
Thanks again Dan
