  • Poly/Nylon Mesh?

Has anyone sewn on mesh? I need to do a polyester/nylon mesh sheet and it's quite a big design, like 13" wide and 5" high. I've already told customer that she'll see the backing, but it can't be avoided because I'll need that backing. She's okay with that especially since the sheet is white and the design has a white background. By the way, this is a horse sheet that will be given as an award.
    Any suggestions?

    What is the "mesh sheet"
    Is it like organza
    or is it like Webbing?

    How dense is the design
    Is it fill
    satin stitch
    Running stitch

    We have stiched designs on
Sheer cotton and sheer polyester using one and some times 2 layers of washaway.
We have also stitched on poly window screen all with good results.

the designs need to be able to support themselves to a point and this can be accomplished using underlay.

The no show nylon mesh is 100$ nylon (no polyester) It is spun nylon - While in a molten form a giant roller runs over it to emboss it. The pattern is not a grain - The embossing adds multi directional stabnility

What os your approx # of stitches? and is it a dense stitch count?
Are there any satin or other intensive stitching?

I always suggest using the diagonally patterned version of the mesh w a tearaway behind it for added definition

The mesh is soft , sheer ,vsry drapable and almost inviisible.

      http://www.lebowconsulting.com/stabilizer-reviews.htm

The embossing pattern rab perpendicularly at 90 degree angles so there was bit of diagonal stretch
As a stabilize needs to be fully multi directional- the diagoanally patterned version is far superior to the past pattern

The diagonal mesh w a tearaway "should" hold 13-15,000 stitches of a moderately dense design
If your stitch count is high then take 2 layers of
the mesh and criss criss the pattern

Fyi= In order to avoid any slppage the mesh is also made in a low melt fusible version,
