  • Questions about Caps

I am in Panama right now and while window shopping have seen these caps that have a design that goes from the bill up on the cap.

How is this done, and what do you put on the bill to cover the stitching?
    Paradise can have it\'s draw-backs.

Those type of caps are not done on embroidery machines like we use...the material is all sewn to match before the hat is assembled so it can be sewn 'flat' and alignment is perfect. Then the finished material is cut and sewn into the hat, brim is done with the sewn material backing hidden by the brim 'filler' and undercoat material. Nothing you can do on a premade hat. Looks great but done in massive quantity to keep the pricing down. You can get them for your customers if you sell Ad Specialty products-you'll get the catalogs once you registered with ASI (pay to join) or UPIC (free to join).
Closest you can come to it is buying the designed hats and just adding a logo to the front panel-you can't sew on the brims. OttoCap, others all sell the 'all over design' type of hats.

There is foam under the raised objects on an embroidered cap. Juli in Kona knows something about this I remember.

You can heat press on a sewn patch that has and adhesive backing. Like the "scrambled eggs" on military cap bills. I did some a few years back. I think I got the patches from Stahls.com.
